AI consulting for business, minus the jargon

You do not need a ninety-page AI strategy. You need to know which two or three agents would actually pay off in your business, what they would do, and what they would cost. We tell you that in a short, plain-English engagement — and sometimes the honest answer is not yet.

The short answer

AI agent consulting is a short, fixed-scope engagement where we map your processes, rank the agents worth building, and price each one — build cost and monthly run cost — so you can decide with numbers instead of hype.

Because AIQ Labs builds and runs agents every day, the advice is grounded in what actually ships: every recommendation comes from the team that would build it, and we will tell you when the answer is not yet.

What an AI agent consultant actually does

An AI agent consultant from our team spends the first stretch inside your business: how calls come in, where leads stall, which tasks eat your staff’s afternoons, what systems you already pay for. Then we rank the candidate agents by payback — not by what is fashionable this quarter.

The output is a shortlist, not a shelf. For each recommended agent you get what it does, which tools it touches, what it costs to build, what it costs to run each month, and what has to be true for it to earn its keep. You could hand that document to any competent team — including ours, or including none.

  • A process audit: where the repetitive, judgment-light work actually lives
  • A ranked shortlist of agents worth building, with the reasoning shown
  • Build and run costs per agent, quoted by the team that would build it
  • A first-move recommendation: the one agent to start with, and why
  • A straight answer when automation is the wrong tool for the job
we only recommend what we would build

How the engagement works — short and fixed

Two weeks, one fixed fee, no open-ended retainer. Week one is discovery: a walkthrough of a typical week in your business, plus the tools and numbers behind it. Week two is the deliverable: the shortlist, the costs, and the order we would build in. Everything lands in a document written for decision-makers, not for other consultants.

If you decide to build with us, the consulting fee comes off the first build — the engagement was never a fishing trip. If you decide to build with someone else, or with nobody at all, the document is yours, and it will still be accurate next year.

  • Week one: discovery — a walkthrough of a typical week in your business
  • Week two: the shortlist, priced, ranked, and explained
  • One fixed fee, quoted before we start
  • Credited toward the first build if we proceed

Agentic AI consulting, grounded in shipped agents

Agentic AI consulting is different from general AI advice. Agents do work: they call, schedule, chase, sort, and escalate. That means the advice has to be about process, tools, and failure modes — not about what a model might do someday. The interesting questions are the boring ones: what happens when the caller is angry, the calendar is full, or the integration is down.

We answer those questions from practice, not theory. AIQ Labs designs, builds, and runs agents for businesses across industries, so our recommendations come with the scars attached: what callers actually ask, where integrations break, which guardrails are non-negotiable. You are not buying opinions; you are buying a plan from people who will still be around at launch.

“not yet” has saved clients more than any agent

When the honest answer is “not yet”

Sometimes an agent is the wrong tool. Volume too low to pay for itself, a cheap subscription that already does the job, or a process so messy that automating it just makes the mess faster. We say so on the call, and we point you at the less expensive fix.

This is deliberate, not modest. Our business is building agents, but it only works if the first one earns its keep — a client talked out of a bad build comes back for a good one. The short engagement exists precisely so you can hear “not yet” before it costs you a year of subscription fees.

Common questions

One fixed fee for the full engagement, quoted before we start and credited toward your first build if we proceed. No retainer and no hourly creep. You know the number on the first call.

Yes, and we will put it in writing. If the honest answer is not yet, we say which cheaper tool to use instead and what would have to change for an agent to make sense. We would rather earn the next call than bill you for a bad build.

A ranked shortlist of agents with what each does, which tools it touches, build cost, monthly run cost, and the order we would build them. Plain English, decision-maker length, yours to keep and to act on with anyone.

No. The plan works with any competent team, including your own developers. If you do build with us, the consulting fee comes off the first build — but the document is not conditional.

Regular automation follows fixed rules: if this, then that. Agents handle judgment calls — they read context, choose a next step, and escalate when unsure. Most businesses need rules for the simple paths and agents for the messy ones; the consulting sorts out which is which.

Nothing formal. Come ready to walk through a typical week: where calls and leads come in, what your staff redo by hand, and which tools you already pay for. We ask the rest.

Get the shortlist before you spend a build budget — book a call.

Book a 30-minute call — we sketch the agent on the call, and you keep the sketch either way.
